We now offer “Mom and Me” lessons for children ages 3-6.
In these lessons a parent, grandparent, older sibling (12 years or older), or friend assist the student.
Children ages 3-6 are able to learn basic equitation (form on horse) and control, but are generally too small to safely lead, saddle, and steer independently. The “mom” assists with this.
Lessons are 45 minutes long and usually include about 30-35 minutes saddle time.
Classes are offered in small groups of 2-4 riders and are taught on our safest and most caring horses.
These classes are designed to provide a solid foundation for later horsemanship skills, allow your younger child to learn about horses, and most importantly be fun!
Both the child and assistant need to wear long pants, and closed toe shoes. Boots with heels are highly recommended. We provide helmets for the rider for the first few lessons, but do recommend students acquire their own eventually.
Classes are currently offered all day Sunday and Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
Classes are taught by our instructor Kimberly (Rountree) Whitehead.
You can call her at 404-457-9529 or email kim.rountree@gmail.com for more information.
